Work
Christina McCain works on research, policy analysis and advocacy around tropical forest conservation and climate change. She leads EDF's outreach to the biodiversity community on tropical forest conservation and climate policy, with an emphasis on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD). Dr. McCain works directly with academics, researchers and professional and amateur naturalists and conservationists to build a network of expertise and advocacy around tropical forest conservation and climate change policy.
Dr. McCain’s areas of expertise include tropical forest ecology, trade and environment issues, and international science and technology cooperation.
Background
Before joining EDF, Dr. McCain served as a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Department of State. She received her PhD in Biology from the University of Miami and her BS in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology from the University of Texas at Austin.
